Die Waffe soll eine aus dem Mittelalter seinThe fourth scene (a solo with occasional entrances of the other voices) consists of three crescendos. The first crescendo is a Renaissance pastiche with a sudden twist into the contemporary idiom; the second one is based on the spectral material which, at the very end, reintegrates a motive from the first part, whereas in the last section, a reverted sample of a gunshot swells to a catastrophic climax. This scene is based on the word „heißt.“
